Abstract

Due to the side effects of using chemical drugs, the cultivation of medicinal plants has received more attention than in the past. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different amounts of pigeon and chicken manure on the morphological characteristics of the Dracocephalum moldavica L. under drought stress. This research was conducted in a completely randomized design with two factors, drought stress at three levels (90%, 50%, 25%FC) and livestock manure treatments at four levels (20 grams and 30 grams of chicken manure, and pigeon manure) and with three replications on the D. moldavica. The results showed that the highest plant dry weight increased by 49%, plant fresh weight increased by 21.49%, and root dry weight increased by 110% in the 20 g chicken, 20 g pigeon, and 30 g chicken manure treatments, respectively. Root fresh weight, leaf number, root length, and plant height were also increased in the 30 g chicken, 30 g pigeon, and 20 g chicken manure treatments, respectively, and at a field capacity of 90%. Based on the results, it seems that the use of these types of fertilizers is effective in reducing water consumption, and chicken manure has performed better in increasing plant vegetative growth compared to pigeon manure.
